When first starting Select Aquatics, there were a half dozen species that had to be offered
because they were disappearing, and were once the most highly desired livebearers seen
at a show show or convention. This is one of those species.

Maintained by just a few hobbyists involved in domestic swordtail development, it took over 5
years, and keeping smaller less well known populations before eventually locating a few pair
of this original, iconic fish.
