Though most males are largely silver bodied,
some males will show an orange/red
coloration on their bodies.
The thing about this
population is that unlike the Los berros population, these
are
far more prolific when conditions are right. Females both
produce larger batches, and
will produce more batches in a breeding season that the Los
berros. It is not uncommon
to have spawns of 10-15 young routinely produced.that
These are a new fish to the hobby,
having been kept in captivity for just a couple years.
These are being kept here with the assumption that they can be kept the
same way as
other lateralis, with a close eye toward whether they have any special
needs or are
sensitive to issues not normally seen.
